She did get married not many years after, to a younger fireman with big ears, who is perpetually embarrassed about himself and apologetic for his existence, but understandably proud of her. Their first child, a girl (maybe now in college?), almost killed her, and they didn’t have another child, despite trying with fertility treatments etc, for about a decade. Their boy was very sickly when young, and now, definitely preteen, maybe preten, he is quite obese.
